Frequently Asked Questions
There always questions that come with adding captions to your events. Here we answer all the frequently asked questions.
We work remotely delivering real time captions to organisations and individuals around the world and in any time zone. To do this we need an audio feed, and we deliver the captions via the Internet to any platform, device or screen.
You can choose to have the captions:
- Integrated and the viewer "turns them on"
- Overlaid on your content - Embedded on your webpage or platform - Displayed on a full screen
Our captioners train for many years to accurately report live speech at speeds of up to 250-300 words per minute delivered at 99% accuracy contextually and grammatically.
The delivery of the captions is real-time with only half a second delay.
Live captions are a very visible way of showing your audience that you are thinking about people who might need to access your event in a different way.
Live captions serve many audiences including those who are deaf and have some hearing loss, those with neurodiversity such as ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism and Asperger's and many others, older people, and people with English as a second language. Having live captions at your event will benefit many people, including those hard of hearing.
We provide human produced live captions in French, German and Spanish (including German and Spanish captions translated in real-time from English and vice versa by bi-lingual captioners).
We have a developed a unique process to bring humans and AI together to produce multiple language real time captions. We train our captioners to curate the text for delivery to AI to get the highest accuracy, we can also add glossaries for AI to better translate terms and names, your organisation can benefit from out "Do Not Translate" feature allowing even more accuracy. This is the most cost effective and accurate way of providing multi-language real time captions.
Open captions are always visible, embedded as part of the stream as an overlay. Closed captions are captions that are sent via the platform you are using or via specialist software that converts the live text to 608/708 caption format.
Live captioning prices vary according to the content and the type of captioning required.
We have special prices for charities and not-for-profit organisations.
Our prices include the highest quality captioning service combined with our technical expertise and end-to-end event management support.
